August 12, 2009

Did you know that Argonne National Labs is holding a free open house on Saturday, August 29th?

You can now see first-hand how Argonne is using science and technology to address some of the world’s toughest challenges in energy, the environment and national security.

You will be able to learn about the groundbreaking scientific and engineering research being done on one of the world’s fastest and most energy efficient supercomputers at Argonne National Laboratory and meet the experts who are using technology to develop new energy sources, discover new materials,  probe complex biological systems and improve our understanding of global climate.

Argonne will be showcasing advances in high-performance computing, modeling and simulation, collaborative technologies, data visualization, computation, and distributed computing environments as well as several other interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, engaging presentations and tours of Argonne’s unique facilities.

We here at TECH cocktail thought that there would be a lot of interest in this event. Perhaps enough interest that would warrant TECH cocktail renting a bus to take interested TECH cocktailers (and even their families) to the open house.

If this if of interest to you please fill out this form (http://bit.ly/1WVmL4) to let us know so we can see if we should get something together.
