There are a number of sites that are currently out there selling or trading Facebook fans and Twitter followers to help grow a social distribution network for companies or brands. If your company is looking to spread your message to a larger audience through social networking, or at least look like you’ve got a large fanbase, then you might want to give Karmaback try.
Founded in 2009 in Austin as a part of the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), Karmaback’s Social Platform looks to solve the key challenges in social network marketing which include fan growth and leveraging fans. With Karmaback you can gain followers by creating a social sweepstakes where users earn points for “anything they do” such as liking, following, rating, commenting and other actions on social networks and then use those points to increase their odds of winning prizes in various sweepstakes. For example, Hudson on Fifth (where Tech Cocktail’s mixer was held) is awarding one lucky winner a $25 Amazon gift card. We have not tried Karmaback but this service looks to help companies create campaigns, driving new fans who might want to engage with brands through sweepstakes and other mechanisms.
Karmaback has a seasoned team of entrepreneurs behind it, led by Harlan T. Beverly and Rajat Datta. They were recently on hand to showoff Karmaback to the rest of the Austin community as a featured startup at our fall mixer on October 7th.
