Charity: Water Aims To Raise $2 Billion For Clean Water

Clean water is something that is definitely top of mind this Earth Day weekend. Most of us take clean water for granted, yet one non-profit, Charity: Water, has leveraged the powers of social technology to capture people’s attention and fulfill its mission of providing clean and safe drinking water for those in need. Charity: Water leverages technology and sites like Google Maps, Twitter, video, etc to communicate their message. They have raised over $30 million dollars in just four years and are aiming to raise $2 billion by the time they are ten years old.

I had the opportunity to talk with Paull Young, Director of Digital Engagement at Charity: Water, on board the Delivering Happiness bus at SXSW 2011.
