CitySourced, the Los Angeles-based real-time mobile civic engagement platform, has recently announced the closing of a $1.33 million Series A funding round.
“Having attained profitability earlier this year, we weren’t actively seeking capital investment. But when the opportunity to work with our current investor presented itself, the strategic potential it brought to the table was too valuable to pass up. We are very excited about accelerating our growth, improving on our existing product suite and the future at CitySourced. The additional capital will definitely be put to good use,” said CitySourced CEO and Founder, Jason A. Kiesel.
One of the startups recently featured at the Tech Cocktail Los Angeles Mixer, CitySourced makes civic engagement easier than ever before. When encountered with an undesirable eye-sore or act of vandalism in your neighborhood, such as graffiti, a pothole, or broken streetlight, simply open up the CitySourced mobile app, snap a picture and submit. This GPS-tagged information is then routed to the proper department within your municipality. The user can then receive notifications on the status of their particular report.
Currently with several domestic cities signed up to use the app, including San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Corpus Christi, as well as many international locations with cities in Canada, United Kingdom, Nederland, Australia, and Abu Dhabi, CitySourced aims to use this new infusion of funds to improve the product and expand the reach of the app to new locations.
The CitySourced app is available for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows.
