Drop Dead Simple Publishing Platform: Smore

July 23, 2011

smore

Taking a page from the Tumblr and Posterous book, Smore, an Israeli startup, has simplified publishing even more.

All you need to get started is a Facebook account. Simply log into Smore using Facebook Connect, and you will be on your way to creating posts. Drag images into the post, add text and links, use their selection of background patterns and colors – done. No other registration or technical knowledge required. Once you have created your page or post, you can publish it immediately or save it as a draft to publish later. You can also publish anonymously if you choose to. I created this page in just one minute.

Years ago the simplicity of setting up a blog on WordPress.com was revolutionary, and then other sites like Tumblr offered solutions that lowered the barrier even more. Smore has now lowered the barrier of entry to a new level – so it will be interesting to see what type of audience develops. Currently still in it’s alpha stage, Smore is looking to pick up steam and crank out as many pages as possible.  After trying Smore, leave us some feedback below and let us know what you think.

I created one pretty fast also. Here it is: http://smo.re/p/orlandopublicity. It would be great to add tags and more posts to it. Is that a possibility?

Where's the campfire? It would be cool to see a directory of other people's smores. Whenever I've had smores, I've always compared mine to others to see if mine would taste the best!
