Create a Private Facebook For Your Family

Privacy is one of the most talked about issues when it comes to social media. Families want to share their experiences with their close friends and community without having to worry that their content could be leaked. Of course there are settings that you can adjust to keep your content secure, but once you join a large social network, you never know who might find you or what you share via the various search options available. eFamily.com, an Indianapolis based startup which recently publicly launched, looks to offer a free solution to this privacy problem.

eFamily which sports a similar color palette and logo as Facebook, enables anyone to create your own private family social network. The site offers secure and private HD photo and video sharing, custom web addresses, a family tree builder, rich text blogging capabilities, your own personal shared calendar and profile updates sharable via RSS and Email. All eFamily.com family sites have 100 megabytes of initial storage. Members who want more storage, custom URLS, and phone support, can pay $1.99 a month payable on an annual basis for up to 2 gigabyte of storage, or $3.99 a month payable on an annual basis for unlimited storage with a maximum upload of 4 gigabytes per month.

eFamily.com just acquired family social networking sight Famiva.com this month. With members of the Famiva.com team on board, e.Family.com will be able to increase stability, and the combined product now has over 200,000 members.

Serial entrepreneur, family man and CEO David Hosei launched eFamily.com this year. Hosei’s previous start-up was 3GUPLOAD.COM, which was a provider of ringtones, screensavers, and games direct to consumers over the Internet. Check out eFamily.com and get excited to meet the team at TECH cocktail Bloomington @ The Combine this Thursday September 9th, 2010.
