Shopping for the latest trends and best bargains is always more fun with a couple of fashionable friends. A new, free app called Snapette is making shopping social no matter where you are.

Part of the 500 Startups incubator program, Snapette is a social networking community for sharing photos of the latest shoes and handbags. Users snap photos of interesting boutique and brand-name store finds and share them with the Snapette community. These snap-happy fashionistas can follow their favorite people, comment on products, search for items nearby and share their own snaps. It’s like window shopping with your iPhone.

If brands like Prada, Christian Louboutin, and Burberry make you giddy, you’re sure to enjoy cruising the eye candy featured on Snapette. What better way to pass idle time between errands and keep up with the latest fashion?

Snapette is currently running several contests for $25 iTunes gift cards. To enter, snap and upload a photo of the brightest bag, the edgiest heel, or the most unusual sneaker you can find using the Snapette app, and tag them according to the guidelines on Snapette’s blog. The most-loved photos win. These contests end Sunday, August 7th, so if you want to get in on the fun, you better snap to it!
