Use Sonar to Connect with People Nearby

Just as dolphins use biosonar to get the lay of the land, err–water, you can use Sonar to get a feel for any room you walk into. Sonar is a mobile app that uses your public profiles on places like Facebook, Foursquare, and Twitter, to find commonalities among you and the people around you.
Sonar uses your mutual connections to help you find people you should know, and maybe some you already do. For example, Sonar will let you know if someone you’ve been following on Twitter is nearby. Or, maybe you’ll find yourself in proximity to a Facebook friend of your college roommate, and you’d like to connect in the real world. Sonar can even provide a non-creepy way to approach the cute guy/girl you see every day at your favorite coffee shop. Maybe he or she likes the same bands and books as you on Facebook. Let the conversation begin. Well, maybe that is a little creepy…
Perhaps the greatest potential for Sonar is its application to the business world. Brands can use Sonar to identify customers within a geographical area and present them with relevant offers at the point.
Don’t miss another connection. Use Sonar to bring your digital world into your real one. Available now as a free app for iPhone.
