Portable music has become an inherently anti-social field thanks to the proliferation of earbuds, which make it extremely hard to share your music in a high quality way. Freq Industries is dedicated to bringing back the boom-box era (which I totally remember!).
Freq’s first product, 11s, is a wireless independent stereo system compatible with all iDevices and USB enabled products (computers, satellite radio, TVs) that allows you to get awesome sound wherever you are. Their stylish, customizable, durable and hi-quality speakers are a great alternative to docks, especially since you can toss them in your bag and take to the skate park, kegger, or anywhere else you’re headed.
For you tech heads, here’s some nitty gritty product info:
- Rechargeable/ replaceable battery system runs on alkaline batteries
- Compatible with all SKAATM branded products.’
- Individual Speaker Size: H: 224mm W: 51mm L: 159mm <1.0 Kg (approximately the size and weight of a hard cover book)
- The SKAA™ multi node capability allows 11s to become part of a 3 or 4 node system- ex.4 speakers, 2 speakers and a subwoofer, 2 speakers and 2 headphones, etc.
If you’re heading to Tech Cocktail Vancouver tomorrow, you’ll get to meet the Freq team and see 11s in action, as they are one of our featured startups.
