Chronically Late? Traveling? Share Your Location on a Map with Glympse

Seattle-based Glympse is an app for the always-running-10-minutes late, the socially inclined, and the worried parent.

Glympse is a location-sharing device with an innovative map that lets you share your exact location with friends, family, and business associates. You don’t have to download the app to use it, and you can customize the duration of the Glympse to protect privacy.

Similar to Foursquare, Glympse attempts to find the best solution to connect people based on where they are. Whereas social-focused Foursquare is used more for advertising your location to other Foursquare members via check-ins, Glympse is used more as a tool for conveniently finding people and making plans.

One of the most compelling ways to use Glympse is to share a road trip, whether it’s a college-touring trip you’re on with your parents or a backpacking trip across Europe.   Using it this way allows others to share advice on restaurants, sight seeing, and hotels.

Glympes could easily turn into a tool for businesses – imagine taking a Glympse at where your pizza delivery order is and how long it will take.

Currently, Glympes, toggles between a street view and a satellite view; maybe in the future, Glympes will add a traffic view.

Glympss is another attempt to successfully “share your where.”  You can get started by downloading the app for your iPhone, Android, Windows 7, or Blackberry.
