Missing Your Green Thumb? GreenSpacers Offers Idiot-Proof Houseplants

GreenSpacers, a green technology startup that we will feature at our Baltimore mixer on March 3rd, developed and sells soil-free, durable, long-lasting, and low-maintenance hydroculture plant systems that naturally purify indoor air.

The inspiration for GreenSpacers came from Noah Berk, the CEO and Co-Founder, who just wanted an idiot-proof houseplant that he wouldn’t end up killing by watering too much or too little.  By using research pioneered by NASA, his team created hydroculture (soil free) plants that come with living bio-fertilizer, energy efficient foam, a container, and water crystal gels.

In addition to selling individual plants, GreenSpacers also builds fully functional hydroponic systems in homes and offices that help remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs), reduce dust, help control humidity, and increase oxygen.

They have recently accepted angel funding from three local investors and are not seeking further funding at this time.
