First TECH cocktail 7.6.06 @ STATE

State ChicagoWe are pleased to announce the first ever TECH cocktail event is scheduled for Thursday, July 6, 2006 from 6:30 to 9pm at State in Lincoln Park in Chicago, Illinois. STATE is one of Chicago’s new hot spots, conveniently located in Lincoln Park and appealing to both tech-savvy and socially engaged clientele.

Stormhoek wine, from the South African winery where “freshness matters,” has donated wine for guests as the featured wine of the event. The wine will be available for free as part of Stormhoek’s 100 Geek Dinner series which you might have heard about from Hugh MacLeod of GapingVoid.com. If wine does not suit your fancy, State is currently a BYOB venue - so feel free to bring your own favorite!

Stormhoek WineWe hope that you join us for an evening of fun mingling with other technology enthusiasts, VCs, bloggers and entrepreneurs. A few of the hottest Chicago startups will be demoing their products. Additionally, we will be giving away a few products from and local startup RipIt Digital. Our hope is that TECH cocktail events (quarterly mixers for bloggers, technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and other business professionals interested in the technology arena in Chicago) can help build a better connected Midwest tech community by meeting up to share ideas and have some fun.

About State Restaurant & Cafe
State leverages technology to keep its visitors connected by offering free wifi access, laptop computers, desktop terminal, courteous phones and lots of big flat screen televisions.
The State of State Technology

State is a fairly new venue located in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood just north of downtown Chicago. It currently is a BYOB venue - so feel free to do so. It can be easily reached via the Brown or Purple line CTA trains by exiting at the Fullerton stop. Then walking south down Sheffield to Webster taking a left and State is on the south side of the street.
