August 3, 2011

MarvelDigital

With so many tablets on the market, choosing the best one for your budget and needs can be a difficult process. The iPad remains popular, but its price tag is a bit steep for some buyers. If you’re looking for a more affordable tablet, you might consider looking at Marvel-Digital’s new Marvel Mercury Pad Tablet.

The Marvel Tablet is one of the newest tablets running Android 2.3 OS with instant access to the Android market and Google Apps. It’s similar in design to the iPad with only a single home button and webcam on the front screen, yet at 7” wide and only weighing 510g, it’s almost half the size and fits into your hands more easily. It has a 16:9, 800 x 480 multi-touch screen display with a Samsung S5PV210, ARM Cortex-A-8 processor and a DDR2 with 512MB of memory. The Marvel Tablet can connect to Wi-Fi or 3G networks and has 4GB, 8GB and 16GB model options.

The Marvel Tablet’s available input and output jacks set it apart from the iPad and other tablets. It comes with an HDMI output capable of displaying a 1080p video resolution, a couple of USB inputs for easy data transfer, and an SD Card slot that supports up to 32GB. Unlike the iPad, the Marvel Tablet can run Adobe Flash 10.1.

The Marvel Mercury Pad Tablet starts at $259.00, almost half the price of the cheapest iPad 2. It’s available through the Marvel-Digital.com website and other online retailers.

If you’re an Android fan, or simply looking for an affordable iPad alternative, the Mavel Tablet may be a viable option. Have you tried this product? What is your tablet of choice?
