Hurricane Irene Inspires Instacane.com

August 28, 2011

Instacane

We already know the impressive reach and popularity of Instagram. With the #Irene and #hurricane hashtags in full force, some fans took matters into their own hands and built Instacane.com, a collection of Instagram photos that utilize those hashtags. The site creators are @chris_ackermann and @petersng. We’ve been watching the site and pulled out some of our favorites which range from lots of uprooted trees, flooded yards and roadways, threatening clouds and hurricane preparation to aftermath and even a little bit’o humor. Enjoy these pics and then check out instacane.com to see a flood of new photos flowing in. And as always, keep an eye on the storm, stay safe and if you’re on the East Coast, may your power return soon.
