Social Media Curation Tool Keepstream Gets Acquired By Infochimps

September 7, 2011

infochimps acquires keepstream

Today Keepstream was acquired by InfoChimps, an API marketplace, for an undisclosed amount. Launched last year as part of the Austin-based Capital Factory startup accelerator, Keepstream, which we covered previously, allows you to easily curate various social media streams and save them to use later (long after Twitter and other streams may have disappeared).  It comes in handy when creating a memorable page to summarize a past event or conversation.

As part of the acquisition, the Keepstream product will be shutting down on September 30th. But the “Keepstream Reports” product that they had been working on all summer will remain alive as part of Infochimps at reports.keepstream.com which offers a dashboard for monitoring, analyzing and reporting on social media. This sounds like a product I would use right away, so I cannot wait to get access to the private beta.

We were able to meet the team last October when they were showcased at our Austin mixer event, and we look forward to seeing more great products developed now that they are united with Infochimps.
