ReviewRite Helps Rid the Web of Silly, Spammy, and Misspelled Reviews

November 11, 2011

Klaggle

One way we sort through clutter on the Internet these days is reading reviews, but reviews themselves are becoming cluttered. A new product from Klaggle, called ReviewRite, helps the best reviews rise to the top.

“Klaggle will combine the high review volume of Yelp with the quality and trustworthiness of JD Powers and Angie’s List,” says cofounder Stephen Candelmo, who previously worked on FedBid.

ReviewRite uses patent-pending technology to automatically rank reviews and offer tips for improving clarity, balance, quotability, and credibility – even before the review is posted. Users can then share their opinion to their social networks, in addition to posting on the original site.

You can find ReviewRite on the websites of Klaggle’s partners, including publishers, bloggers, and retailers that want to improve their product reviews. Avid reviews can also download ReviewRite as a browser plugin.

Founded in 2009, Klaggle built another product that extracted wisdom from millions of reviews to help retailers understand what customers are talking about. The DC-based startup has raised angel funding.

Launched in private beta at our Tech Cocktail DC mixer, ReviewRite is limited to the first 1,000 Facebook users who sign up here.

  1. Thanks Kira for the article!

We are really excited about the promise of ReviewRite. We like to describe it as a combination of Klout meets Tumblr for Reviews. Given our real time analytical platform, we score the review as it is being written for quality, influence and trustworthiness and then provide automated editorial guidance to improve the reviewer's Klaggle score (while earning rewards along the way). Once done, the review is then published on the user's own review blog page and then distributed to their friends on their desired social graph. We certainly hope to get rid of silly, spammy and fake reviews and become the defacto source for the best and most trustworthy source of reviews for anything on the web!
