Microsoft’s Mobile App Showdown at SXSW

With the launch of the Windows Phone 7 last year (we hosted preview events in Chicago and DC) we are excited to be working with Microsoft at SXSW for the second straight year. Last night they hosted a Mobile App Smackdown developer competition at our Tech Cocktail SXSW event–think Iron Chef meets mobile development.
Working in partnership with Cooliris’s LiveShare service, developers on three platforms, iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7 hacked away for the duration of the event. At the conclusion, they previewed what they were able to create on each platform in just a few hours time.
The developers represent three prominent mobile application companies: Clarity Consulting, Cynergy Systems, and Touch Titans.

Kirk Ballou – Touch Titans (Android)
It turned out to be a really awesome event. These developers cooked up some very clever apps live at Tech Cocktail SXSW presented by LiveShare from Cooliris, which we will be sharing via video in an upcoming post. Stay tuned!
