This week on September 28th and 29th in Chicago is the midVenturesLAUNCH conference. Taking a page out of the DEMO and TechCrunch playbook, the event looks to offer a place for local startups to compete on stage for prizes. midVenturesLAUNCH includes more than 60 speakers and panelists, including the founders of OkCupid, OpenTable and Feedburner.
midVenturesLAUNCH will feature a keynote from Groupon co-founder Brad Keywell on building a startup company in the Midwest. In addition, Steve Huffman, co-founder of Reddit, will talk on his experiences at startup incubator Y Combinator, selling Reddit and starting over with new flight search startup company Hipmunk. You can buy your midVenturesLAUNCH ticket here.
TechCocktail is a media sponsor for the event and we look forward to covering some of the festivities. Additionally, the winner of the midVenturesLAUNCH will be showcased at our next Chicago TechCocktail Startup Mixer on October 28th which will be taking place after our full day Startup Mixology Conference.
