New Mobile Marketplace from Taap.it Makes Buying and Selling Easy

July 10, 2011

Taap.it

Frustrated with the eBay/Craigslist buying and selling process?  NYC-based startup Taap.it has developed a free location-based app to quickly connect buyers and sellers via a new mobile marketplace.

Basically, they took the best features of Foursquare, Instagram, eBay, and Craigslist and threw them in a blender.  The app allows you, the seller, to snap a picture with your iPhone and share it with nearby buyers and on Facebook and Twitter. Geotagging is done automatically.

On the buyer side, you only need to launch the app to see items for sale that have been sorted by location. If you find something you want to buy, you just tap to call or email the seller.  At this point, Taap.it is no longer involved; it’s up to you and seller to complete the transaction.

There’s also a Wanted section, where you can post what you’re looking for and how much you’re willing to pay for it, and a Community & Opinion section where you can share information with your local community.

The app is currently available for Android and iPhone.
