PowerInbox Releases the First Third Party Google+ App

September 8, 2011

PowerInbox Google+

PowerInbox, a startup that launched just 3 weeks and demo’d at our Tech Cocktail Boston mixer last week, has released the first, and only, third party Google+ client.  They posted a survey on their homepage to find what PowerApps people would love to have in their email, and Google+ won by a landslide.

Here’s how it works: when you get a “added you on Google+” email, you can add people to your existing circles. As they build it out, you will be able to create circles, view post, add comments and more – right from your email.

I spoke briefly with Matt Thazhmon, Founder and CEO about the app:

Our goal is to make email better, and with Google+, this is just the beginning.  We see this as part of the future of email – being able to run apps right inside your email.

You can watch a video of the app in action here.  Nice job guys!

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
