Robot Media: Story-telling Through Mobile Development

Robot Media’s development product is described eloquently and aptly as a “graphic story-telling engine”.
Robot Media, founded last year by Hermes Pique, a 27-year-old software engineer specializing in mobile technologies, is a multi-platform mobile development company that recently reached over 2 million downloads of its applications for iPhone, Android, iPad, Nintendo DSi and Kindle.
Over 200 children’s books, comic books and magazine apps including content from publishers such as HarperCollins and Random House have been powered by Robot Media. The group’s apps have been featured by Google and Apple, and were recently awarded the Publishing Innovation Award at the 2011 Digital Book World conference.
The Barcelona-based company takes digitalization of traditional media (e.g. comics, children’s books) beyond mere electronic translation into an interactive, social experience. Recent titles include English Idioms Illustrated for iPhone and iPad, The Adventures of Simon Pegg, and Children’s Tales, a selection of illustrated books and comics for children from 3 to 9 years old, available in in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Catalan.
