Showcase Your Content with Jux

New York City-based Jux is doing what Tumblr did for blogs, but all over again, and possibly even better. Jux is for bloggers who want to make a creative splash using eye-catching web fonts, sharp color and unique layouts. The publishing platform boasts full-res images that stretch across your entire screen with visual appeal akin to About.me and Flavors.me pages.
I decided to give Jux a try and created a simple, but sweet slideshow of images. The sign-up was quick, and I was immediately thrust into creating my project. I chose from six layout schemes including BlockQuote, Article, Photo, Video, SlideShow and Countdown. Uploading my images was easy, and I was surprised that I didn’t have to edit them prior to uploads; the images turned out incredibly clear, even though they weren’t resized or retouched. I wrote a caption for each of my images and adjusted the fonts and colors to my preferences. Although I had the option of “stylizing” each image, including showing them in black and white and even giving people mustaches, I chose to keep my images as-is. Within just a few minutes, I had a clean and customized slideshow ready to share with family and friends.
What I like about Jux is that you’re inside the content as you create it, so you don’t have to go back and forth between screens to preview your finished piece. It’s a more involved approach to creating content, both visually and textually.
Jux is fully integrated for sharing, so you can show everyone in your social networks your latest masterpiece with just a few clicks. If you choose to create an image-based post, as I did, your finished product will be more interesting than the bare bones Facebook photo albums. Of course, Jux loves text too, so you can blog the old-fashioned way and share your ponderings with all your friends and followers.
