Social Media Hour: Fatal System Error The Book

March 11, 2010

FATAL SYSTEM ERROR

The irony of an on-line broadcast featuring a guest whose commentary may well make folks want to stay offline forever … well, that irony saturates this episode of Social Media Hour as Cathy Brooks talks with Journalist and Author, Joseph Menn about his latest book: “Fatal System Error: The Hunt for the New Crime Lords Who are Bringing Down the Internet.” They talk about TCIP and how it is not ideal for everything we use it for on the Web. They also discuss the book and the cyber-crime and how we are not really ready for it. It’s both fascinating and scary at the same time because according to Joseph we all have a lot to learn about online security.

From there, the topic lightens considerably as Cathy is joined by Dana Oshiro, Jolie O’Dell and Chris Heuer to talk about the upcoming SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
