Social Media Hour: Local Gov and Startup Lessons

Technology, civic engagement and the challenges of being an entrepreneur who’s been around the block a few times – these are the topics to be tackled on this week’s episode. Cathy will be joined by Rebecca Prozan, candidate for one of the Board of Supervisor seats in San Francisco, and an avid user of social media. In this interview, she outlines how her personal use and professional use blend and how technology can and should play a central role in local government.

Also this week, Tariq Krim, a French entrepreneur who’s last company, NetVibes, taught him a lot about some of the less obvious learnings when launching a business. Tariq is currently working on a JoliCloud a slick operating system for netbooks. In this conversation Tariq shares his views of start-ups, lessons and how to move forward.
