Tales of Lana Turner being discovered at Schwab’s, and any number of other seeming sheer luck stories have brought legions of aspiring young actors and actresses to Hollywood – each one hoping for being the next person found by some talent agent. Truth is, these stories are more rare than the Dodo, and in fact many of them aren’t even true – instead being well-spun items by Tinsel Town talent reps wanting to lay the foundation for Hollywood history.
Today, however, social media has stepped in on at least one front of casting, and in today’s episode of Social Media Hour we’ll be talking about the way in which tech’s virtual soda shoppe is finding people who may be tomorrow’s stars. Joining Cathy will be Alec Shankman, CEO of GotCast and Stephanie Frasco, entrepreneur and founder of Triple Threat Media.
