Bands Can Live Stream Music Performances on Stagester

October 27, 2011

Stagester

It’s such a bummer when you find out that one of your favorite bands came through town while you were on vacation.  Maybe it’s worse when a band you haven’t seen in years is touring but not performing anywhere near your town.  A new startup out of Seattle called Stagester allows bands to live stream their performances – and boost their concert revenue.

This is a win-win solution for everyone – the aforementioned fans who can’t make it to a concert and musicians who can now reach their fans no matter where they are while maximizing their profit from live performances.  Performances are all in sweet HD video, which you can watch on your computer, TV, iPhone or iPad, and thanks to their unique streaming software, the sound is actually better than at the show.

Of all of their competitors, LiveSet is the only one streaming live shows, but they are not scaleable because they utilize full video crews for each show. Baebelmusic, meanwhile, only offers video on demand, while Live Nation has everything they need to do what Stagester does but, for whatever reason, they haven’t.

Stagester is still in beta, so if you missed them at our Tech Cocktail Seattle event last week, you’ll have to sign up on their landing page to join their invite list when they do launch.

    Hi Monika,

Thanks for the shout out and Tech Cocktails was great. Just to clarify, Live Nation was and probably still is interested in streaming but their business model is very different from Stagester and that has more to do with it than anything, in my opinion.

There is a website from Singapore that is already doing this. http://www.liveomusic.com
They brought in Sony music artist syndicate and streamed live around the globe. Extremely scalable and with their own technology.
