Startup Updates: BiteHunter’s New Mobile App, LiquidFare’s Foursquare Integration, SocialGuide’s Partnership with Zap2It

Three NYC-based, entertainment-related startups we have covered previously – 2 focus on food and drinks, 1 focuses on social TV watching – shared some fun updates with me over the past month:
BiteHunter, which we covered in April when they demo’d at Tech Cocktail NYC, launched its second mobile app to add a few user-requested features. BiteNow shares limited-time real-time offers; a calculator was included to show the amount saved on each deal; more than 200 new sources for deals and specials were added; and users now have the option to personalize dining preferences. Liquid Fare, whose founder Jon Zanoff I had the pleasure of meeting at Tech Cocktail NYC in September, has released an updated app that integrates Foursquare’s API to provide users with additional data on the volume and gender of bar crowds. Now you can check in on Foursquare directly through the Liquid Fare app and see which bars are buzzing with realtime Foursquare check-ins. Finally, our friends over at SocialGuide, who demo’d at our Tech Cocktail NYC mixer in September, have partnered with Zap2It to provide the Zap2it audience with social TV info. SocialGuide is also linking to Zap2it TV Showcard pages to provide its growing user base the most recent show-specific news and recaps from the Zap2it editorial staff in Hollywood.
