Last March, we held our first Austin TECH Cocktail event as part of the SXSW festivities. We donned our black cowboy hats as part of our Johnny Cash theme and featured over 30 startups from around the country  - it was an amazing time.

Now we’re coming back to Austin, hosting a more classic TECH Cocktail startup mixer event to showcase local Austin tech startups and get to know the Austin community better.

When: Thursday, October 7th, 2010 – 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. CT
Where: Hudson on 5th, 301 W 5th, Austin, TX
What: A “cocktail of TECH people”
Price: $10 (online early bird), $15 (standard), $20 (at the door)

Helping Startups Get Exposure

TECH Cocktail offers a handful of startups an opportunity to show off in an expo-style to the rest of the Austin entrepreneurial community for FREE. Through the years, we’ve showcased hundreds of startups such as: SCVNGR, SocialThing, The Point (now GroupOn), ArtistData and many more. During past mixer events we have had companies find employees, co-founders, funding and some start-ups have even been acquired.

Helping Companies Hire Employees, Launch Products and Support the Local Tech Community

We still have sponsorship opportunities at the event which range from $1K to $5K based on the level of participation. To continue to add value and stay true to our “cocktail mixer of tech people” theme, we are calling all Bay area entrepreneurs looking for seed funding or angel investors as we will be trying to help match local startups with local seed or angel investors. We know that this type of connection has happened naturally at our events in the past, but we want to help water the seeds a bit and ensure that the fruit of our labor is a better connected entrepreneurial community.
