The Generation Project Needs Our Support: Event Wednesday Night

July 21, 2009

The Generation Project is an exciting new organization looking to get everyday people more involved in public schools by helping people donate much needed items to educators and students.  This is a very worthwhile cause and worthy of our support.  You can help by attending a fundraiser the Generation Project is putting on Wednesday night in Chicago (sorry for the short notice…).  I hope as a tech community we can rally around these guys and show them that Chicago has a big (and shiny) heart.  See below for more details on the event.

This just in from Jessica Rauch, co-founder and President of the Generation Project…

Cocktails.  Food.  And a web-based charity that is revolutionizing educational philanthropy.

Launch Party – The Generation Project

Wednesday, July 22 from 7-9 PM

Rugby Store – 1000 West Armitage

The Generation Project, an innovative, web-based educational charity, is bringing its summer launch tour to Chicago THIS WEDNESDAY, July 22.  Come enjoy an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and learn how The Generation Project empowers individual donors to become micro-philanthropists through the creation of gifts for high-need students.  Sponsored by Ralph Lauren, the event will take place in the stylish environs of the Rugby Ralph Lauren store in Lincoln Park (1000 West Armitage).

RSVP to http://www.paperlesspost.com/events/12931-0b3201b8/card

(Minimum $25 donation for entry—but, hey, $25 for an open bar where your entire donation goes to charity isn’t too shabby)
