Tired of switching back and forth through all of your instant messaging applications just to stay connected? There is now a way to consolidate all your chat networks into one with Thru.im.

Thru.im has created a platform that lets anyone build instant messaging applications that use their Message Routing Engine API. Their API translates messages between Facebook Chat, Google Talk, and SMS to the user’s real time preferred chat networks, creating the most convenient end-user messaging experience possible. This means no more switching back and forth between Facebook and Google to chat with parties from either or. For example, Tom and Jerry can communicate while Tom is in class on his computer using Google Talk and Jerry is at home on his iPad using Facebook Chat.

Thru.im applications can also benefit businesses who want to engage their customers through simple text-based conversation. Reaching the consumer is every business’ goal and what better way to do so than direct communication?

Thru.im is a startup based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan that was founded in September 2010. It was awarded the Norm C.
