Sharing Trends On The Social Web In 2010

It’s time for the annual sharing trends report for 2010 by AddThis. AddThis, by DC-area based startup ClearSpring, is one of the largest sharing offerings on the web. We reported earlier this year on how they go about designing for 1 billion users and last year we reported on the top 15 shared pages on the social web of 2009. This year, the top shared items are somewhat random, spiced up with a hilarious dancing Brazilian baby, but toned down with a solid dose of melancholy by several posts. Hey – we’re not writing the headlines, we’re just reporting them. How many of these top 10 shared pages have you seen already?

Here are the top 10 shared pages of 2010:

  1. Texas Mayor Kills Teen Daughter, Kills Self
  2. Paper Cuts – Rolls
  3. Awe-inspiring scenes from Mother Nature
  4. Sniper kills Qaeda-from 1.5 miles away
  5. Super Heros vs. the Westburo Baptist Church
  6. WereBox
  7. Brazilian Samba Baby
  8. Hilarious World Cup Dive
  9. Day in Photos: June 18, 2010
  10. Chinese Susan Boyle

Also something new this year, AddThis created a nifty infographic that shows the sharing trends of 2010.
