TroopSwap.com, a DC-based startup that offers daily deals exclusively to military families, has raised $925,000 in new funding from several prominent angel investors. We are very excited for them, as we first covered them in May and then showcased them at our Tech Cocktail DC mixer in June.
“Tech Cocktail and the DC tech community have gone out of their way to put TroopSwap.com on the map,” said Blake Hall, CEO. “We’re grateful to be a small part of this vibrant group of entrepreneurs. We’re also delighted that we have the capital we need to take military appreciation to the next level.”
Investors include Andy Dunn, the founder and CEO of Bonobos.com; Frank Monestere, the president and COO of LegalZoom.com; Paige Craig, the founder and CEO of Betterworks.com and Kelly Perdew, the winner of Season 2 of NBC’s The Apprentice and CEO of FastPointGames.com. David Tisch, the managing director of TechStars NYC, is also a previous backer.
TroopSwap.com will use the funding to expand operations from Hampton Roads to both DC and San Diego, as well as expand its executive team.
Congratulations guys!
