Twitter Meets Craigslist for Mobile at Antengo

Just as Twitter took online conversations to the micro level, Antengo is taking online classifieds to the mobile microlistings level with its free mobile app. A microlisting offer or request on Antengo is 140 characters or less, geo-tagged, and enables secure, real-time chat between buyers and sellers for quicker transactions and exchanges.

Picture yourself outside of a crowded stadium, in need of a last-minute ticket to see ACDC (I’d prefer to see The Killers, but ACDC is Antengo’s choice, so we’ll go with them). Craigslist can’t help. The only solution today is sticking your finger in the air and hoping you serendipitously find a ticket seller who is offering a fair price.

Instead, pull open Antengo. Keyword search for ACDC in a half-mile radius, then shoot an in-app chat to a seller. He gets a push alert and fires back, telling you to meet at his location on the map. You then walk til your blue dot meets his green dot, give him $40, he hands you the ticket, and you stroll into the show.

Antengo was co-founded by Marcus Wandell, CEO, who spent nearly four years in New York at Microsoft Advertising, designing, selling, and managing digital marketing campaigns for Fortune 100 clients. He conceived of Antengo and worked moonlight hours to get it started. Hunter Jensen, Co-Founder and CTO at Antengo, is also the founder of Barefoot Solutions, a web and mobile software development shop that focuses on working with startups.
