Imagine having the ability to view a movie at home the same night it opens at the box office. PRIMA Cinema is making the dream a reality, but this dream will come with a hefty price tag.
PRIMA Cinema is a premium service delivering theatrical release Hollywood movies to clients’ homes the same day they are available in theaters.
And, how much will it cost to transform your home theater into a real theater? PRIMA will charge a one-time fee of $20,000 for the digital delivery system and an additional $500 for each movie a client views.
Clearly, PRIMA Cinema is targeting a niche market—those customers with high-end digital projection systems that cost $100,000 and up. So, the vast majority of film lovers will still have to stand in line and fork over their 10 bucks to see a new release.
But, for some, this service offers the ultimate in entertainment luxury. The service will provide content that truly validates their pre-existing investment of a dedicated home theater.
PRIMA Cinema is working closely with Hollywood Studios to make first-run movies available for viewing in customers’ own private cinemas. They expect to have 300,000 clients within the first five years.
If your interest in piqued, you can learn more and meet the PRIMA Cinema team at Tech Cocktail San Diego on May 18, where they are one of our showcased startups.
