Use Wellthy to Get Healthy with Your Coworkers

September 14, 2011

Wellthy

As a newly formed “health nut,” I understand that creating a healthy lifestyle requires more than willpower to be sustainable over time. To adopt new healthy eating and fitness habits, a wellness plan should be fun, rewarding, and, if you’re lucky, something you can share with others.

A new app called Wellthy is helping people conquer their health-related goals with a program tailored for coworkers. Wellthy is a social wellness game that makes it fun and easy for companies to promote a healthier workforce.

Wellthy is fun because the app makes getting healthy into friendly competition between coworkers. Users can earn points by sharing healthy meals and activities, all while moving up the leaderboard.

Wellthy is social because using the app requires collaboration with others to get healthier. Users can plan activities and share favorite recipes with the app.

Finally, Wellthy is rewarding because companies can use it to reward the top monthly performers with gift cards and prizes. So, motivating your employees to become healthier can be as simple as using an app.

Wellthy was one of 5 startups in the US that were selected to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative in Chicago this summer; it was also one of 8 companies selected for the Brandery startup accelerator program in Cincinnati.

Wellthy recently launched with 12 test companies across the US for their second month of pilot testing. You can sign up to receive notification of Wellthy’s launch by visiting their website.
